What is Pure Mathematics?
Pure mathematics is the general branch of mathematics that deals with mathematical concepts without any relation to the real world. In contrast with applied mathematics, its concepts are not usually applied to other fields outside of math. For example, while applied math might seek to study mathematics for the sake of applying it in physics or engineering, pure math focuses on results obtainable within mathematics.
